This blog was updated April 2025

If you’re looking for unplanned pregnancy help, you’re at the right place.

Nurse’s Corner

Finding out about an unplanned pregnancy might feel like too much to handle right now. But guess what? You’re not alone, and there’s a whole world of support and hope waiting for you.

You might be wondering if others have been where you are, feeling uncertain and worried about the future. As a nurse, I can tell you, many women have faced unexpected pregnancies and have found their way through with the help of support and determination. It’s okay to have questions, doubts, and fears – that’s all part of the process.

So what are the 3 options for an unplanned pregnancy? Parenting, adoption, or abortion.

You deserve to feel confident in your choice. And to have that confidence, it’s super important to get medically-accurate information and to understand your options.

Remember, you’re stronger than you think, and there are people and resources ready to stand by your side. The road ahead might seem uncertain, but there’s a community of women who have walked it before and have come out the other side with strength, resilience, and a brighter future.

So take a deep breath, trust yourself, and know that you have a world of support rooting for you. You’ve got this.

Easier said than done, right? Facing an unexpected pregnancy can be especially hard. I’ve never met someone looking for unplanned pregnancy help who felt totally confident. But guess what? Every woman I’ve met at ThriVe has found support in their pregnancy decision and made it through. And you can, too.

Meet your network of pregnancy support

Facing a pregnancy that wasn’t part of your plan? Hey, it happens. Your future and your health matters. If you’re wondering about the 3 options for an unplanned pregnancy, I’m here to talk about how I’ve seen other women navigate their pregnancies with confidence.

If you’re feeling a little unsure or confused about an unexpected pregnancy, you’re like most pregnant women. I’ve never met a pregnant woman who thought they had it all together. There’s a network of pregnancy and healthcare support you can turn to.

Centers like ThriVe are all about lending a helping hand, with no judgment whatsoever. We offer no-cost pre-abortion screenings that include a lab-quality pregnancy test, STD screening, and ultrasound. This helps you to understand the 3 options for an unplanned pregnancy so you can feel confident in your choice. Remember, it’s all about YOUR choices and what feels right for you.

In addition to ThriVe, these resources are available for unplanned pregnancy help as well:

  • Financial resources for expecting and new mothers
  • Programs to help expecting women finish school and find work
  • Parenting classes, diapers, wipes, and clothing
  • Nutrition programs with food and formula for mom and baby
  • No-cost care and counseling
  • Post-abortion counseling and support
  • Adoption referrals and emotional support

The list of support systems goes on longer than what I’ve listed here. No matter what decision you’re considering, there’s a village of helpers waiting to walk alongside you. In the community of women’s healthcare and unplanned pregnancy help, we care about you.

Take care of yourself

Feeling a bit overwhelmed? I get it. That’s totally okay, and it’s also okay to lean on others for support. Don’t hesitate to reach out to the people you trust – whether it’s your best friend, a family member, a teacher, or a counselor. Having a supportive community around you can make all the difference. You should definitely take time to take care of yourself, especially now. Remember that self-care is healthcare. From my experience, pregnant women tend to feel more confident in their decisions when they’ve done 3 things:

1. They’ve taken some time to slow down and process the fact that they’re pregnant. They’ve touched base with their feelings and hopes for their future.

2. They’ve spoken to people they trust and told them what they’re feeling.

3. They’ve checked in with a nurse or doctor to check their pregnancy status and discuss their pregnancy options.

I know that it can be hard to talk about this unexpected pregnancy. But saying what you feel out loud can help you process and make the best choice for you. Take care of yourself- you matter.

Empowering your decision-making

Your health and your future are both incredibly important. As you’re looking for unplanned pregnancy help, know that there are options. Whether it’s exploring the possibility of abortion, considering adoption, or continuing the pregnancy,  the choice is ultimately yours. Don’t be afraid to have open and honest conversations with medical professionals, like our team here at ThriVe. Your well-being comes first!

Talking about your options with a medical professional can help you feel confident about your decision.

It’s safest for you to pursue your decision with the help of an expert who can give you medically-accurate information about your pregnancy.

Having an ultrasound can show you if your pregnancy is ectopic (meaning the fetus isn’t developing in the uterus).2 This would make having an abortion unnecessary and possibly dangerous to your health. An ultrasound can also tell you how old the fetus is, which you need to know in order to pursue either an abortion or a healthy pregnancy.

Hold onto hope for tomorrow

This might not be what you expected at this time in your life, but remember that you are supported and capable. Surround yourself with positivity, and don’t hesitate to ask questions, seek support, and make informed decisions that feel right for you. There’s a whole network of unplanned pregnancy help here cheering you on.

Remember, you’ve got the power to shape your future. Always know that you have options and allies here to support you. If you’d like to speak to us about your options and have a no-cost ultrasound and screening, please make an appointment soon.
