Women’s Voices and the PlanCPills

Sometimes, when people talk about unplanned pregnancies and using PlanCPills (also known as the abortion pill), things can seem really simple. But it’s not that easy. Some pregnant women might think abortion is the only choice.

But you always have choices. You are in control. And choosing the PlanCPills can be a complicated choice.

Let’s talk more about the abortion pill and your choices.

Is the abortion pill a quick fix?

Some women think that having an abortion is a fast and easy way to deal with an unplanned pregnancy. It’s so understandable. If you’re pregnant, you might be feeling overwhelmed, or even panicked. We understand —pregnancy is a huge deal. Don’t be hard on yourself for feeling this way — you’re going through a lot. If you’re dealing with pressure from people to make a decision, that could make it even harder to deal with. But whether it’s the PlanCPills, adoption, or parenting, it’s your choice.

With so many voices talking at once, it can be helpful to hear from someone who’s gone through what you’re going through. Let’s hear from different women about how they felt when they found out they were pregnant:

1. “I felt really scared and thought having an abortion was the quickest way to get things back to normal.”

2. “I thought if I didn’t have an abortion, my family would be disappointed in me. My mom had actually told me she’d kick me out if I got pregnant, so I was really anxious.”

3. “I felt like I had to do it because everyone else expected me to. It felt totally out of my control.”

Questioning yourself?

When you’re pregnant, you’ve got three choices: abortion (PlanCPills), adoption, or parenting. While this decision might seem black and white to other people, you know how complicated it can be. It’s normal to question yourself, your plans and future, and maybe even your relationship. An unplanned pregnancy can complicate things, even in committed relationships.

Many, many women have mixed feelings. At some point in our lives, most women who get pregnant have to re-configure things. Aside from all the decisions you have ahead of you, you’re probably dealing with the voices of other people, too. That’s why we are here. ThriVe+ wants to hear your voice, hear your story. We want to know what you think and feel. Empowering you to make your own decision is super important. And your health plays a big part in that.

ThriVe+ is a place where you can get help without anyone making you feel bad about your choices. We provide information and support, and abortion is one of the options we talk about. For now, it’s helpful for you to learn more about PlanCPills so you can make an informed decision. Your health matters. Learning about this is part of keeping yourself safe.

What Happens with Plan C Pills

Using PlanCPills isn’t as easy as you might think. You can’t predict what might happen (or whether it’s even the right medication) if you take a mailed abortion pill. Like with any significant medical procedure, medical supervision is really important. It isn’t like taking Tylenol or Ibuprofen.

There are physical side effects like bleeding, cramping, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and fatigue. These side effects can last for weeks, and may result in you needing more care. For your safety, it’s always important to talk to a medical professional before you consider taking it.

ThriVe+ offers no-cost pre-abortion screenings to help you learn more about the abortion pill and your body. Your safety comes first. If you have an ectopic pregnancy, PlanCPills would not help, and you’d need medical attention immediately. The abortion pill is also only approved for pregnancies ten weeks old or less, so It’s really important to have an ultrasound before taking an abortion pill. The pre-abortion screening includes a pregnancy test, STD test, and ultrasound. We care about your health and safety.

Emotionally, you might feel sad, anxious, or regretful. Some women experience strong emotions. It’s normal to feel any emotion you might have. We value all women, regardless if they’ve had an abortion or not. That’s why we provide support to women after abortion. No matter where you are in your journey, ThriVe+ has your back.

Now, let’s hear from some women who’ve taken the abortion pill:

1. “The pain was strong. I didn’t expect to feel so emotional afterward. I wish I knew more about that before.”

2. “I had a hard time dealing with regret. It took a while for me to understand my decision. I needed people to talk to and I felt alone.”

3. “The bleeding was more than I thought it would be. It scared me. I wish I had taken more time before deciding.”

Serious Side Effects and Why It’s Important to Know:

Taking PlanCPills can have serious side effects like heavy bleeding, undetected ectopic pregnancy, incomplete abortion, and infection. ThriVe+ wants pregnant women to know all their options and to take the time to decide, so they don’t feel rushed or pressured. We’re a safe place for you to ask questions and share your feelings. Know that you have time.

Feeling pressured or rushed? This is totally your choice. You don’t have to make a decision today, tomorrow, or next week. Take your time. Consider each option and make a plan that works for you.

Here are some women’s voices about making their choice:

1. “Slowing down helped me. ThriVe+ gave me the time I needed. They kept in contact with me so I could talk to someone.”

2. “Knowing I had choices was helpful. Don’t rush into something you’ll regret.”

3. “It helped to know that I didn’t have to decide right away. Even if I chose abortion, I had time to think about it. When I realized that, I was able to breathe more.”
