Tampons, pads, or reusable products? Take our period-match quiz!

Tampons, pads, cups, or period underwear? There’s a ton of options available. As women, we might not love being on our periods. And unfortunately, society has even shamed us out of talking about periods. But not at ThriVe+! Having the right product can help us girls feel more confident and comfortable. And don’t we all deserve it?

🌸💖 Find Your Perfect Period Product!💖🌸

Whether you’re new to having periods or you’ve been dealing with them for a while, there are different menstrual hygiene products out there that are just right for you. It’s totally fine to try out different kinds and brands and find something that meets your needs and helps you feel your best.

Here are the options most women use:

1. Pads:

Pads are absorbent cushions you wear in your undies. They catch the blood and keep you feeling fresh. They come in different sizes and are easy to use. You can even get cloth pads, which are washable and less “sticky” than disposable pads. Lots of women prefer using pads because they’re simple and you don’t have to put anything inside your body.

2. Tampons:

Tampons are little cotton tubes you put inside your vagina to catch the blood. They come in different sizes and absorbency levels and are handy when you want to do activities that might not work with a pad (swimming, anyone?). Tampons are great if you’re busy and want to keep moving without worrying about leaks. They’re also discreet — and many women find them comfortable. However, it’s very important to change them regularly to stay safe and avoid a rare but serious problem called toxic shock syndrome (TSS).1

3. Period Underwear:

Period underwear is like regular underwear — but with an absorbent material that traps blood from your flow so you don’t need to wear pads or tampons. They come with different absorbances for light or heavy flow and they’re washable and reusable.2 Some women love them because they’re comfy and eco-friendly.

4. Menstrual Cups:

These are flexible cups you put inside your vagina to collect the blood. They’re reusable and made of medical-grade silicone, rubber, or latex — and can be emptied, washed, and used again multiple times. Menstrual cup manufacturers say that they can be used for up to 12 hours.3 Some women find them tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, they can be really convenient.

Now, let’s figure out which one might suit you best! Tampons, disposable pads, or a reusable product like period underwear or menstrual cups? Again, it’s normal to try out different products to learn which one is best for you.
